Upgrade stand-alone or federted ArcGIS Server deployment through CloudFormation Update stack

Upgrade a stand-alone or federted ArcGIS Server deployment from 10.7, 10.7.1, or 10.8 to 10.8.1 (Except ArcGIS Notebook Server)

  • On Windows:
    1. Obtain an ArcGIS Server 10.8 or 10.8.1 authorization file and place it in the same deployment bucket where you stored authorization files for the initial deployment. Be sure the license includes the ArcGIS Server role you want to upgrade.
    2. Download arcgis-server-update-policy.json file.
    3. In CloudFormation Service page in the AWS console, select the CloudFormation stack you want to upgrade, and click "Update Stack".
    4. Specify a template to replace the current template. The new template URL is https://s3.amazonaws.com/arcgisstore1081/14362/templates/arcgis-upgrade-server-windows.template.
    5. For the InitialArcGISVersion parameter on the Parameters Update page, select the version of the CloudFormation template that you used when you initially created the stack. Update only ServerLicenseFile parameter to point to the 10.8 or 10.8.1 authorization file.
